This app lets you scan CDs to add them to your Spotify library

This app lets you scan CDs to add them to your Spotify library

By now CDs have virtually become a thing of the past and the butt of a series of jokes punking the “good old days” when CD players were still a fad.

But if you happen to be stacking an enormous collection of albums on your shelf, CD Scanner for Spotify might just be the app you’ve been looking for.

Available for iOS, the app lets you effortlessly import your CD collection to your Spotify account. All you have to do is scan the barcode and CD Scanner will automatically add the album to your playlist, saving you the hassle of searching for songs, artists and albums manually.

If the exact version of an album is not available on Spotify, CD Scanner will look for an alternative edition. In case the app fails to find anything it will return an error message telling you the album cannot be found on Spotify.

Needless to say, CD Scanner for Spotify is by no means a new concept. The now defunct Covify – that was created at The Next Web Hack Battle back in 2012 – used to perform the same task.

But with Covify now out of the game, CD Scanner for Spotify might be your only viable option to quickly transport your favorite albums to your Spotify playlist.

This luxury will cost you $2.99.
