You can now use 3D Touch to browse Netflix on your iPhone

Having recently expanded to a total of 190 locations around the globe, today Netflix released an update for iOS that comes with improved functionality for iPhone as well as an optimized layout for iPad Pro.

The latest iteration of the streaming service – that bumps the app to version 8.0 – adds the “post-play experience” for iPhone owners. This feature offers tailored recommendations to users for what to watch next at the end of movies and TV series. In the latter case, the post-play experience also has the option to auto-play the next episode.

More significantly, however, Netflix now supports 3D Touch with a peek and pop function. A light touch, for instance, will enable users to readily access additional information about movies and series as they are browsing the catalogue. A harder push, meanwhile, will open shortcuts for immediate streaming, adding and removing titles from favorites, or sharing.

Even though the update arrives without any crucial changes in design, it does include a display optimization for iPad Pro that adjusts content to the correct resolution.
