When listing a product for sale online, pictures matter. A good set of images can make the difference between things selling or sitting on a shelf. A new Android app from Camera 51, Product Camera, helps take more professional looking images for your business or eBay listings.
It works by focussing on an item in the shot, and stripping away the background. What you’re left with is your item, and nothing else.
Hate spammy ICOs and crappy cryptocurrencies?
So do we.
Of course, it won’t work for just any shot. The item you want to isolate should be on a plane away from other items. The processing strips away background fodder, so the item of interest should be closer.
Product Camera even adds a soft shadow to your images so they don’t look like a terrible Photoshop hack. It also optimizes the focus, so all you have to do is take a picture.
The app is currently Android-only. An iOS version is planned for release in early 2016.
