TVibes, a new iOS app released today, lets you upload and organize your personal videos into broadcast channels. The goal is to enhance the way you share, manage and discover cloud-based videos on your mobile device.
While there are plenty of opportunities to shoot and share video via popular apps like YouTube, Vine or Vimeo, TVibes is designed as a video-only platform that lets you share high-quality footage with a select group of people.
It also aims to solve the problem of ‘non-sharing’ for people do not want the entire Internet witnessing their baby’s first steps.
The app lets you choose your audience and assign levels of access to various videos with categories like Soulmate, Family, or Friends. If you prefer, you can choose to share your more public videos by selecting Everyone on the TVibes network.
As users start recording at a specific location or using a special hashtag, the app automatically generates a channel for that content so other users can view fresh footage in that category.
The app’s videos are organized and curated as channels, based on people, hashtags and locations. Say you like soccer, you can follow the #soccer channel, and every time new content is added to the channel, it notifies you and shows up at the top of the feed.
TVibes stores videos of any length or quality — you can shoot video within the app or upload from your Camera Roll.
TVibes is available now for free on Apple’s App Store. An Android version is currently in the works.
Pssst, hey you!
