A partnership with DigiCert will provide users with security certificates in what the company is calling the largest implementation of certificates ever.
Each user’s server receives its own individual security certificate automatically, provided the ‘secure communications’ option is enabled on their Plex install.
A green lock will appear next to your server once it’s set up properly, so you can be sure it’s secure.Implementing security certificates means that nobody can snoop on what you’re doing when you’re using Plex. Best of all, the HTTPS option is free to use.
Once you upgrade to the latest Plex server, you’ll be able to securely stream movies, music and other content to Android, Roku, Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone devices as well as the Web App and Home Theater app.
iOS is conspicuously absent, for now, along with the new Xbox One app.
