Getty Images adds Pinterest-style Boards for easier photo curation

Getty Images has launched Boards, a new feature that makes it easier to curate and share on its collection of more than 60 million royalty-managed photographs.

Boards replaces Getty’s traditional Lightbox functionality, and lets you collect images and share them with colleagues and clients without requiring them to sign in. You can also compare images at a glance, and your whole team can comment on individual pictures or entire boards.

Boards also offers a variety of layouts to allow users to quickly scan collections.

In addition, the company has redesigned and updated its iOS app. It now surfaces popular creative and editorial photo galleries from its vast library of images for search-free browsing.

The app also lets follow your favorite photographers and share images at no charge with your contacts via iMessage.
