The new version of the iOS app, which also supports the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus models, now includes a built-in camera with the option to control focus and exposure manually, taking advantage of features introduced in Apple’s iOS 8. A full-auto mode is also available.
The app features an Adobe Creative Cloud image editor, which lets photographers adjust exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, clarity, vibrance, temperature, tint, sharpening and noise reduction. The editor also offers 22 presets to layer onto any photo taken with or imported into the app.
Adobe Lightroom users can upload synced photos from Lightroom Mobile directly to 500px. In addition, the new 500px includes support for the 1Password extension for more secure app login.
Back in September, the photo sharing site announced a joint plan with Adobe to bring 500px Awesome Account members into the Creative Cloud photo plan for $165 per year ($199 in Europe), so use of Adobe’s editing tools comes as no surprise.
500px also has an Android app, but it has not been updated with a camera at this time.
Pssst, hey you!
