VLC for Android leaves beta

VLC, the beloved video player for desktop and mobile, has finally exited beta with a stable version 1.0 release on Android, reports Android Police.

After being in beta for two years, the stable release brings bug fixes for Android 5.0 and ARMv8 processors, but no notable new features. In fact, it’s still missing Chromecast support which was promised back in June.

Still, it’s a step forward that fans of the play-anything video and audio app will be happy to hear about.
