Deezer acquires talk radio and podcasts app Stitcher

Streaming music service Deezer has acquired Stitcher, an app for listening to talk radio and podcasts. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, but the company plans to continue to support Stitcher’s apps.

Sometimes referred to as “Pandora for podcasts,” Stitcher combines programs together to make custom stations. Deezer will lean on Stitcher, an Apple CarPlay and Android Auto partner, to enter the in-vehicle space.

Deezer boasts 16 million active users and 5 million paid subscribers around the world. The company has largely focused on markets outside the US, but it recently arrived Stateside through partnerships with Sonos and Bose.
