Last April, we covered Yellow Line for iOS, an app that gives London drivers local parking information and tells them where they left their car. Now, the app has been given a major facelift and rebranded as AppyParking.
The app saves you from having to search the streets for paid-for (or free) parking, and covers resident parking bays, pay-and-displays and single yellow lines – it shows zones in green when it’s free to park, and red when restrictions apply. Now, with the latest update, it also shows you the location of paid meter bays, disabled parking, motorcycle and electric charging bays, and even car parks. Moreover, it will highlight the cheapest petrol stations and let you park on people’s driveways thanks to a partnership with ParkatmyHouse [previous coverage].
While the app previously only covered a handful of areas in London, it now covers nearly every controlled parking zone in the UK capital, with only three boroughs still to go. And yes, an Android incarnation should be landing within six weeks. So watch this space.
