Flipboard for iOS and Android now lets users collaborate and create magazines together

After launching a tool that lets users create their own magazines, Flipboard has announced an update for both iOS and Android that brings new collaboration features.

The release lets user invite others to contribute to their magazine, and once  the invitation has been accepted, contributors can submit articles, pages, and stories to that specific magazine either from within Flipboard’s app or through the browser bookmarklet.

It was this March when the company unveiled its “do-it-yourself” magazine creation tool. It coincided with Flipboard revealing it had 50 million users. With today’s news, users can now solicit feedback and contributions from anyone for any type of publication, whether it’s for a fan club, event coverage, breaking news, and more.

The self-curation tool has certainly helped increase Flipboard’s user growth. At TechCrunch Disrupt in New York, the company announced that it had added 6 million new users within the first month.

Flipboard has certainly made some advancements in the publishing world to make it so anyone could have their own magazine, especially something that is of interest to them and also to others.
