Put the rumors to rest; the iPhone 8 will have an OLED screen, we think. It’s still not something Apple is confirming at this point, but it seems unlikely the company ordered 70-million OLED screens from Samsung for anything other than the new iPhone.

While the order is less than half of the size originally reported (160m), analysts estimate that Samsung expects to make up to 95 million total for Apple this year.

Rumors have been swirling about Apple’s move to OLED screens for months. Supposedly, the new iPhone 8 will be a radical change from previous iterations, with a curved screen similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Edge.

The OLED screens could only be in one of the three models of iPhone 8 rumored to be released this year, maybe the rumored “iPhone Edition.” There’s a chance we could also see an iris scanner and wireless charging.
