The Apple App Store breaks the 100,000 approved applications mark

PictureThe ever popular Apple App Store has passed the 100,000 approved iPhone app mark.

iPhone and iPod touch application tracking service AppShopper shows that Apple has so far approved over 101,713 apps and games for its device.

Although this number just includes only the applications Apple has accepted, therefore not all are currently available just yet, it’s yet another mind blowing landmark for Apple.

Apple’s most recent announcement of App Store application count occurred in late September, when the store passed the two billion downloads mark, with 85,000 available apps at the time.

Currently, the service shows around 93,000 applications are actually available on the App Store at this moment. Many predict the 200,000 mark will be in sight early/mid next year, with 250,000 apps by the end of 2010.

It’s a truly remarkable feat.
