Seedcamp announces 21 Startup Finalists. Read about them here.
seedcampSeedcamp, the Pan-European focused incubator and seed capital venture firm, not unlike the very popular US based YCombinator, has selected its final 21 startups for Seedcamp week.

Founded by Saul Klein of Index Ventures and Reshma Sohoni, Seedcamp is an annual treat for European startups and entrpreneurs seeking funding and expertise.

Having only begun three years ago, the company has already reviewed more than 1,500 applications, held more than 1,600 mentoring sessions, held Mini Seedcamp events in 10 countries (the winners of which attend the final Seedcamp week) and have invested in 14 companies with 5-7 more to come this year.

Seedcamp 2009 has accepted applications from a much broader selection of countries, with over 400 applications and startups from Israel and even Jordan making the cut.

The final selection of 21 countries will now spend an intensive week in London developing and promoting their startup, ending with an opportunity to pitch to be one of the five winners of Seedcamp – and the recipient of up to 50,000 euros in return for a 10 per cent stake in the business.

In addition to the seed funding, the winning teams stay on in London for a further three-month period, developing their business idea and product through regular contact with Seedcamp’s network of mentors and experts.
