Google Calendar gets “Add any gadget by URL”

After the success of gadgets in Gmail, it wasn’t long before Google Calendar saw the same integration.

Up until how however, the gadgets have been limited to tasks, world clock, background image and a couple of others. Visiting the section now though, you’ll find an “add any gadget by URL” option that should let you technically add any Google gadget out there.

Of course, there’s only limited space in the sidebar which will mean only a few gadgets will fit. Let’s hope developers start making alternative versions of the gadgets, because frankly viewing the same gadgets across iGoogle, Gmail and Calendar could do wonders for my productivity levels.
