Zoopla signs deal to power News International’s UK property searches

UK property search website Zoopla has announced a partnership with News International which will see it power The Times, The Sunday Times and and The Sun’s property sections on the publications’ respective websites.

News International is the UK newspaper publishing division of Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation, and under the terms of the deal, Zoopla will exclusively power the property search function for all three websites, replacing Globrix, and News International will begin promoting its new online property offering more extensively via its national newspapers.

Alex Chesterman, Founder and CEO of Zoopla.co.uk, said:

“We are delighted to be working with News International. Their brands are amongst the most read in the newspaper market, with the most-visited websites in the UK – the deal clearly adds value for all our members.”

Zoopla was founded by Alex Chesterman and Simon Kain back in 2008, and it provides key property information such as house selling prices and current value estimates for 27 million residential properties in the UK.

Back in March, we reported that Zoopla had launched a property archive of house prices, and in July it released heatmaps which showed the average current price of houses across the UK. It’s anticipated that the new partnership will kick-in from early October.
