Google has rolled out a small update to its Google Maps service, providing a fuel cost calculator for journeys planned using the popular mapping service.
It new option appears to be specific to UK users at the moment but works by automatically finding the local fuel price for the area, allowing you to specify what type of car you have also. There is also an option to specify the fuel type of your car for a more specific cost breakdown.
To utilize the calculator, specify directions between your location and your destination, scroll to the bottom and click the “Est. Fuel Cost” link at the bottom.
