Argos partners with Shutl to deliver online orders in just 90 minutes

Super-fast online delivery startup Shutl has signed a deal with retailer Argos that means you will be able to get online purchases delivered as soon as 90 minutes after you ordered.

The six-month trial starts on Friday this week (6 August) and covers central London stores only for now. Orders can be delivered within the capital in 90 minutes, or within a one-hour delivery window between 9am and 9pm. Argos will offer the service seven days a week with prices starting at £4.95. Shutl says that this is cheaper than a standard 2-3 day delivery.

Shutl’s system works by aggregating capacity across local courier companies into a single web-service that retailers can use to speed up deliveries. A GPS tracking facility in partnership with Bing Maps allows shoppers to track their deliveries in real-time via the Shutl website.

We previously covered Shutl when they pitched at The Next Web conference PayPal X Startup Rally in April and we interviewed CEO Tom Allason as part of our Silicon Roundabout series.

Twelve central London Argos stores will support 90 minute delivery via Argos.co.uk by the end of this week.
