LinkedIn opens UK Volunteer Marketplace to connect professionals with charities

LinkedIn opens UK Volunteer Marketplace to connect professionals with charities

LinkedIn’s usually about finding your next paid gig but it’s just unveiled a new set of features to connect professionals who want to volunteer with UK charities that need their help.

The LinkedIn Volunteer Marketplace will put charitable organizations in touch with LinkedIn members who’ve expressed an interest in volunteering. Meanwhile users will be able to browse thousands of volunteering opportunities at non-profits.

To indicate you’re interested in volunteering or serving on a board, you just have to check the box on your profile under the ‘Volunteer Experience and Causes’ section.

LinkedIn introduced the Volunteer Marketplace in the US last year. Since then it says the number of volunteer positions advertised on the social network has jumped from 500 to more than 30,000.
