Twitter adds SSL support for its Tweet and Follow buttons

Twitter adds SSL support for its Tweet and Follow buttons

Developer tools on Twitter have just received a welcome change. Previously, Twitter upped its security by giving its users HTTPS access, a move meant to provide encrypted communication (or password protection) for those accessing Twitter over unsecured WiFi connections.

The Twitter blog reports that you can now add Tweet and Follow widgets to your secure HTTPS pages, allowing users to share your content and follow your account without having to jump from your site, curing developers of this minor analytics headache.

It’s not a huge update, of course, but definitely something to keep in mind moving forward.
