Facebook Will Soon Allow You To Easily Unsubscribe From Notifications

If you have a Facebook account and interact with your friends on a daily basis, you will be familiar with the flood of notifications you receive when the post creator or their friends comment on a status or a photo.

Facebook is quietly testing a new feature that allows users to opt-out of notifications if they have commented or “Liked” a friends update, whether it be an event, photo or status update.

Inside Facebook snagged a screenshot of the feature in action, embedded below:

The 💜 of EU tech

The latest rumblings from the EU tech scene, a story from our wise ol' founder Boris, and some questionable AI art. It's free, every week, in your inbox. Sign up now!

The Unsubscribe feature is another small addition to the site that many users might not have realised has been enabled on their account, just last week Facebook introduced browser tab notifications that would show unread notifications in the title bar of their Facebook tab or page.

Have you had this feature enabled yet? Has it helped to reduce noise in your Facebook friend stream?
