An anonymous millennial known only as ? just translated The Bible into emoji

God created the world in six days, rested the seventh and on the eight he discovered emoji.

Fast forward about 6,000 years (if you’re a Christian), or 4.5 billion years (if you’re not) and God’s supposed word has just been translated into the language of the millennial — emoji. There were things that happened between the first thing and the last thing, but let’s not get too caught up in the details.

Jumping ahead again, a devout millennial Christian just created an application for iOS called ‘Bible Emoji: Scripture 4 Millenials,’ that features all 66 books of the King James Bible, 80 emoji icons and 200 corresponding words. For those keeping score at home, yes, ‘millennials’ is misspelled in the title of the app, but let’s focus here — words aren’t important when you have emoji, or Jesus.

A passage from Genesis, for example, looks like this:
