I’ve always thought of Microsoft Kinect as cool toy that never reached its full potential. It seems Sissi Rada — a Berlin-based electronica duo — saw it differently.
The act recently used the depth-sensing Kinect 2 to shoot the music video for ‘Sunday’ in a sort of pointillist, machine-view perspective, much in the same way the Google Car sees the world. The rich visuals were then layered on top of a haunting track that melodically massages the viewer from one transition to the next.
It’s not the first time someone used the Kinect as a tool for artistic expression, either. London-based alt-rock band, Echo Lake, shot its video for ‘Young Silence‘ using the Kinect back in 2010. In 2012, we saw a documentary, ‘Clouds,’ filmed in its entirety on the Kinect as well.
