Today is the 30th birthday of a bit of computer history. On July 23, 1985, Commodore released the Amiga and helped kick off an obsession with 16-bit graphics that continues today.
If you happen to be in or around Mountain View, California, you can celebrate the auspicious event at the Computer History Museum’s Amiga 30 event which is running over the weekend.
If you’re not – and you’re probably not – there’s a wealth of Amiga videos on YouTube to offer that nostalgia kick.
And don’t forget the brand lives on with a company planning tablets and smartphones emblazoned with it and some of the games reborn on iOS.
