This guy spent $10,000+ on Steve Jobs’ old business cards to promote his app

The Marin School in San Rafael, California had an auction to raise funds earlier this month and one lot was particularly interesting – three of Steve Jobs’ business cards.

Now we know who bought them. Tim Knowles, the CEO of Stacks.co, which is not even remotely coincidentally an app that’s trying to “revolutionize business cards”, paid $10,500 for the privilege of framing them.

He told me:

If there was ever a business card to have in your rolodex – it would certainly be Steve’s – we wouldn’t be doing what we are doing right now if it wasn’t for him!

Stacks is privately held, so Knowles stumped up his own money to help the Marin School and promote his business rather than dipping into some investors’ cash.
