Well, Twitter is pretty much like a pyramid game/ Ponzi scheme, right ?
So old-timers (the followed by many) attract new-comers to join by promising them they'll have influence. However, new-comers only get influenced (they mostly follow).
The followed think the one following them aren't worth their attention, while the followers think the ones they're following are ass holes cause they don't give them any attention.
Pretty straightforward, huh ?
