Note 7 Recall: Samsung will pay you $25 and issue exchanges starting next week

After recalling the Galaxy Note 7 due to the risk of an exploding battery and halting its sales, Samsung has now clarified its exchange program in the US.

Basically, you’ll have two options:

  • Exchange your Note 7 for another Note 7
  • Exchange your Note 7 for an S7 or S7 Edge (as well as any Note 7 specific accessories), and a refund for the price difference between devices.

Samsung says it will start replacing the Note 7 “as early as next week”

You can either call Samsung (1-800-SAMSUNG) or visit the store where your purchased your phone to get a refund. You’ll also get either a $25 credit on your phone bill or a $25 gift card.

Meanwhile carriers are providing their own solutions. T-Mobile has already detailed an exchange and refund program, and the other major carriers are offering similar exchanges.
