Samsung unveils new 5-inch dual-SIM Galaxy Grand, with dual-core 1.2GHz processor and 8MP camera

Adding yet another Galaxy S III (or maybe Note) clone to its collection of Android smartphones, Samsung today launched its new Galaxy Grand handset, offering a dual 1.2 GHz processor, 5-inch display and 8-megapixel camera, available in both single and dual-SIM models.

The Galaxy Grand’s features a 5-inch 800 x 480 WVGA TFT LCD display, while packing in 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal memory and a large 2,100 mAh battery. Its chassis is 9.6mm thick, which comes in slightly thicker than the 4.8-inch Galaxy S III. While it’s plenty powerful, make no mistake this is a mid-range phone.

While the Galaxy S III and the Note 2 are currently the flagships in terms of smartphone power, Samsung wants to continue providing similar devices in every size.

As noted above, Samsung will launch two Galaxy Grand models, making the dual SIM version (GT-I9082) first, followed shortly by the single SIM (GT-I9080) model. The dual SIM model will allow you to take calls on two different numbers, perfect for enterprise users or owners in emerging mobile markets.
