Samsung Italy confirms Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note will get Android 4.0 update

Samsung Italy confirms Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note will get Android 4.0 update

With Google’s latest Android update Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) due to hit its first handset on November 17 in the form of the Galaxy Nexus, the manufacturer of the device has seemingly confirmed that both the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note will receive the new update, HD Blog reports.

The update looks to have been confirmed by Samsung Italy, which notified the Italian mobile website that not only would the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note get the update, owners of the Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy Tab 8.9, Galaxy Tab 7.7 and Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus would also see the software release come to their tablet device.

Samsung, which utilises its own unique user interface TouchWiz on its devices, will have assessed which devices would be able to run the new Google software update. Given that it has not yet confirmed whether its low and mid-range smartphones will receive the update, Samsung may still be determining if its other handsets can handle Google’s new feature-rich release.

Taiwanese manufacture HTC also confirmed that it would endeavour to bring the new update to as many devices as it could, again having to determine which devices will be able to run the update without hinderance and play nice with its Sense UI software addon.
