Microsoft has revealed all of the entertainment apps that will be available for the Xbox One on November 22. The list varies substantially between the different launch markets, but it’s a solid base that will support Microsoft’s pitch of an all-in-one media consumption device.
In the United States, players will have access to the following apps on day one: Amazon Instant Video, Crackle, CWTV, ESPN, FOX NOW, FXNOW, Hulu Plus, Machinima, MUZU TV, Netflix, Redbox Instant, Target Ticket, TED, The NFL, Twitch, Univision Deportes, Verizon FiOS TV and VUDU.
Fans of Mad Men, Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire will be pleased to hear that HBO GO is listed as “coming soon.” The US selection is roughly the same as that announced by Sony for the PlayStation 4 yesterday, although the absence of a dedicated YouTube app is notable on both.
In the UK, the app selection is noticeably different. Xbox One owners will have access to: 4oD, Amazon\LOVEFiLM, Blinkbox, Crackle, Demand 5, Eurosport, Machinima, MUZU TV, Netflix, NOW TV, TED, Twitch and Wuaki.tv. No BBC iPlayer or ITV Player, the former of which is currently available on the Xbox 360.
