IE9’s Latest Build Scores 95 In ACID3 Test, Now Let’s Move On

Microsoft has released the fourth platform preview version of their next desktop browser Internet Explorer 9.

The build is still without  a usable UI and is meant for developers. A proper and hopefully a new look for IE is expected in the first public beta build is expected sometime in September. Meanwhile for every person and I mean everyone who mocked Internet Explorer for their ACID scores, this build has an astonishing score of 95, still 2 short compared to Chrome’s latest Dev build and Minefield.

Regarding the score ACID score, according to IE9 head Dean Hachamovich they fall short in SVG Fonts and SMI animation for SVG, both of which he says are in transition. The other enhancement is the integration of their new JavaScript engine – Chakra. The scores should appease the critics who kept harping about them, as a user I’m still waiting for the Beta build to see how snappy the browser feels.
