If you’re looking for that special someone on Tinder, use it at 9pm.
According to research from Nielsen, which also included results from OkCupid, both services tend to be the most active, and elicit the most responses during that time.
If you’re the late-night hookup type, it might surprise you to see that your chances for success decrease exponentially after 10pm.
The majority of people are semi-active on Tinder between 10am and 10pm while OkCupid users sort of die off mid-day before peaking in the evening and early morning.
For the early-to-bed types, don’t fret; both services offer a spike of activity between 8am and 10am before traffic sort of levels off until the 6 to 10pm peak.
The data would seem to suggests that online daters are most likely to use the service when waking up in the morning and before bed at night.
“When we look at unique audience, we see that a larger percentage of all OKC users sign in both in the morning and night,” a Nielsen statement said. “On Tinder, the user’s likelihood to check in between noon and midnight is mostly flat at about 40 percent.”
If you’re still dateless for Valentine’s Day, go forth and use your newfound knowledge. It’s rough out there, good luck.
