Your Amazon Echo will now read Kindle books to you.
With an update, the Echo will start reading titles with a simple “Alexa, read [a book from the Kindle library],” which launches you straight into the book you asked for.
You can also ask Alexa to “read my Kindle book,”“pause,” “go forward (or back)” and “resume my book.” You can’t yet ask Alexa to skip to a preferred chapter, and it will only read books from your library (or those lent to you).
This is handy for those that want to catch up on a favorite book while doing other things around the house. We’ll also be interested to see if this feature makes it to the rumored Echo v2.0, which is said to be smaller than the existing Echo and possibly wireless.
