We watched more hours of porn in 2015 than humans have walked the earth

In 2015 we watched 4,392,486,580 hours of porn on PornHub, more than two and a half times longer than homo sapiens have been on earth.

The network’s annual report crunched the numbers on the last 12 months and it turns out we reached new highs, or lows depending on your views on adult content.

Other similarly startling figures suggest per capita, the world watched 12 videos each on the site alone, equating to more than 21.2 billion visits.

Making up the bulk of those numbers were the USA with 41 per cent of all traffic followed in a distant second by the UK. Storming into bronze was India who replaces Canada in the holy smut trinity. Some what ironically, India attempted to block its citizens from watching porn last year.

When it came to how long, err… people lasted, visitors from the Philippines spent a positively leisurely 12 minutes and 45 seconds on the site. Those coming from Cuba however, came (ahem), saw and left in a brisk five minutes and 11 seconds.

Worldwide, the most searched for term was ‘lesbian’, but in the US meanwhile, it was knocked off the top slot by ‘step mom’. What that says about family relations in America is quite frankly anyone’s guess.

Perhaps the one saving grace for humanity in the report was the most commonly featured word on PornHub was “love”. Interestingly, Instagram’s most popular hashtag was ‘love’ too.

2015, the year that people fell in love with porn.
