Five movies leaked from Sony Pictures following hack attack

Five movies leaked from Sony Pictures following hack attack

In the week that has followed since Sony Pictures was hacked, possibly with insider help, five of the company’s films have been leaked and downloaded online, reports Variety.

DVD Screener versions of new titles “Fury”, “Annie”, “Mr. Turner”, “Still Alice” and “To Write Love on Her Arms” have been doing the rounds on file-sharing networks, and a source familiar with the details of this case says the leak is possibly related to last week’s hacking of Sony Pictures’ corporate systems by a group that calls itself GOP.

As of 30 Nov, “Fury” has been downloaded over 1.2 million times, while “Annie” has crossed 206,000 downloads, according to piracy tracking firm Excipio.

A Sony spokeswoman said that, “The theft of Sony Pictures Entertainment content is a criminal matter, and we are working closely with law enforcement to address it.” We’ve reached out to Sony for further comments, and will update this post as soon as we hear back.
