Delivery tracking service Slice snaps up email unsubscription service Unroll.me

Delivery tracking service Slice snaps up email unsubscription service Unroll.me

Slice, a company that provides delivery tracking by extracting information from email receipts, has today announced its purchase of Unroll.me‘s email unsubscription service.

While terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, Slice said the acquisition was driven by a shared company goal: to ‘make email useful again’ and that it will be business as usual.

“Unroll.Me’s 1.3 million ‘Rollers’ will experience no change in their service. We are keeping the team and they will continue to be based in their New York location. It is our hope and intention to retain and nurture the Unroll.Me talent and continue to grow the business,” a spokesperson told TNW in a statement.

A spokesperson for the company said the acquisition could result in a completely new product too, but didn’t give details on exactly what that would be. Nonetheless we’d expect it to remain focused on its email mission statement.
