Reddit launches real-world scavenger hunt just in time for Christmas

Reddit launches real-world scavenger hunt just in time for Christmas

One month after sending out an SOS for volunteers from every US state and a handful of international cities, Reddit has announced a real-world scavenger hunt that involves you seeking out hidden boxes.

Redditors have hidden a gift box in 52 locations around the US, as well as Sydney (Australia), London (UK), Amsterdam (Netherlands) and Singapore. Reddit is adding clues to each location-specific subreddit, giving at least some hint as to where the box could be hidden.

For example, for Austin, Texas the first clue states: “It’s to damn cold to be outside.” Typo aside, clearly you’re not going to be digging in the ground any time soon, so here’s hoping the clues start getting a little more specific soon.

Meanwhile, you can follow the live thread for the hunt here.
