Smartwatch maker Pebble announced today that it will open up an app store for its platform early next year alongside version 2.0 of its SDK.
Pebble appstore, as it’s called, will fit within the official iOS and Android apps and include watch faces and six app categories: Daily, Remotes, Sports & Fitness, Notifications, Tools & Utilities and Games.
Developers won’t be able to charge for their Pebble appstore offerings, but they will have the option of releasing paid companion apps in Apple’s App Store or Google Play and linking to it in Pebble’s store.
