This new Kickstarter campaign seeks to reunite the original members of the Homebrew Computer Club

A Kickstarter campaign has been set up in an effort to reunite the original members of the Homebrew Computer Club for one night only in Silicon Valley.  The hope is that between now and October 29, 2013, $16,000 will be raised to bring Lee Felsenstein, Ted Nelson, Steve Wozniak, and Gordon French to the Computer History Museum to celebrate their legacy and talk about future innovations.

If you’re not familiar with the Homebrew Computer Club, it was a group of computer hobbyists that met from 1975 to 1986 and was intended to be a place to collaborate on ways to make computers more accessible to everyone. Its cause was captured in the 1999 TV movie Pirates of Silicon Valley and among its members included Wozniak and Steve Jobs.

At the time of this story’s publication, the campaign has raised $2,436 towards its goal. If successful, the event would be held on November 11, 2013.
