Big data company SiSense raises $10M round from Battery Ventures, Opus Capital, and Genesis Partners

Big data analysis company SiSense has announced it has closed its $10 million Series B funding round. Led by Battery Ventures, with participation by Opus Capital and Genesis Partners, the company says that it will use the funds to help it meet the “intense demand” for its service. Alongside the announcement of new funding, SiSense is also sharing that it has seen its subscription revenues grow 520 percent from last year in 49 countries.

The company’s goal is to help democratize Big Data analytics through a way that allows companies to evaluate their data. It offers not only business intelligence, but also data analysis, SQL reporting, business user analysis, and more.

One of its main products include SiSense Prism, which has helped power analytics for Target, Merck, Wix, and Uber. The company says that it has been designed for the latest 64bit chipsets and utilizes on-chip optimization and columnar data structure that allow for performance 50-100 times faster than traditional relationship databases. Basically, it uses built-in visualizations to help you better interact with the data from any device.

Itzik Parnafes, a general partner at Battery Ventures, says that “SiSense’s groundbreaking technology and market approach challenges the older-generation business intelligence software vendors.”
