eBay brings its Fashion app to Russia, integrating ‘Last.fm for clothing’, Chicisimo

Online shopping giant eBay has introduced its free eBay Fashion (eBay Мода) iOS app for Russian customers with integrated access to the Chicisimo online fashion community.

Users of the new app can find and buy clothes, shoes and accessories at one of the world’s largest online marketplaces and receive alerts about seasonal sales and promo-actions via “Fashion Vault” section. There’s also an integrated translation tool that allows users to translate items’ description into Russian on the go.

Integration with Chicisimo’s database may be used as a source of inspiration for Russian buyers. Chicisimo, dubbed “Last.fm for fashion,” is an online community, where fashion aficionados can share photos of their clothes, adding information about brands, colors, etc.

Chicisimo doesn’t have a mobile app of its own yet, so eBay Fashion is the first to offer support for the platform.

In October, Chicisimo signed another significant partnership agreement with online retailer Zappos and launched a joint social e-commerce microsite.

eBay opened its marketplace in Russia back in 2010, and is expecting its user base to grow 82% in 2012, while its official app had seen 200,000 downloads in Russia from January to September.
