Google will help you register to vote directly from search

Google has a announced a new Search feature to make it easier for people in the US to register to vote and find out more about their local requirements.

If you type in ‘register to vote’ the Search will provide guidelines for registering online, by mail, or in person. You can also see the requirements (such as being 18 years old and not being in jail for a felony), as well as registration deadlines depending on how you choose to register.

In the same vein, Google is adding information about the upcoming Republican and Democratic National Conventions. From here you can view a summary of the event, information about the candidates, speakers, and any relevant social media posts.

YouTube is the official livestream partner for the conventions, so Google will also showcase the video in its search results. Presumably, you won’t be able to watch them in VR.
