Google debuted its Launchpad accelerator program late last year as a way to give equity-free help to burgeoning startups in Brazil, India and Indonesia, as well as offering advice and resources to grow their apps. As 24 companies successfully made it through the pilot class, Google has announced today that it will do it all over again in June.
Google is already touting the success of some companies who participated in the first intense, two-week accelerator:
Two weeks after attending the kickoff event, Brazilian mobile game developer UpBeat Games was featured on Google Play and saw a 1,000% increase in app installations in Asia, as well as a 200% overall increase in active users, by leveraging analytics to better understand their users.
The new class will allow participation from those three countries as well as a new region — Mexico — and offers an all-expenses-paid trip to Google’s Campus in Mountain View for the program. Companies will then get six months of support from Google, resources to do their work and up to $50,000 in equity-free funding.
Those interested in applying to the accelerator can do so here by March 31.
