Hot on the heels of last week’s search updates, Google is adding more functionality to help you choose the right candidate for this year’s primary and presidential elections. You can now find candidate’s stances on key political issues right from the search results.
These include categories like security, taxes and immigration. Interestingly, Google isn’t just using an algorithm to pull from candidates past quotes; that’s probably for the best, as it’d be easy for an algorithm to misrepresent a candidate’s stance. Instead the company is using direct statements from the candidates themselves.
Meanwhile, Google will also now integrate live voting results for election primaries right into search, including a breakdown of the delegates received by each candidate. In a neat touch, the feature works in both English and Spanish.

As political cherry on top, Google Now will also update you on the latest election news, provide voting reminders, and showcase results.
The features are rolling out to users users across the US today, as the state of Iowa begins its primary caucus. The primaries will continue to unfold over the next few months, so better get to searching.
