Google will now help you decide which Android handset is right for you

Google will now help you decide which Android handset is right for you

Ever wondered which Android phone may be right for you? With so many to choose from, knowing which suits your needs can be tricky.

At the official Android site, a new phone selector tool is available for those who aren’t quite sure which Android handset they want. It’s simple to use, too; just pick the things you’ll want to use the phone for, and the tool suggests a few handsets for you to consider.

The main hub asks you to pick from a few use-case categories. Once you’ve selected the things you want to do with your phone, the site asks you how often you’ll be doing those things, and how you may go about them.

Do you listen to music for hours at a time? Are you using a Bluetooth speaker, or do you use wired headphones plugged into the audio jack while you’re listening to music? These are the types of things the phone chooser wants to know.

At the end of the process, it spits a few suggestions at you. Interestingly enough, it wasn’t pushing me to buy a brand new phone. Several times, it suggested phones that have been out for quite some time.

It’s a neat idea for those on the fence about which should be their next Android phone, and may be helpful for those who are just plain overwhelmed by the variety Android presents to them.
