Google’s new In the news box for search results is surfacing some non-traditional “news” sources, including Reddit.
Search Engine Land noticed that Reddit links were showing up in Google’s new search results field. Google confirmed that it was populating the field with more than traditional news sources. It told Search Engine Land, “We will be pulling from all over the web which means that we will present as diverse a range of voices as possible to ensure we get users to the answer they are looking for.”
Of course Reddit being Reddit, when you currently search for “TSA,” this is what you’ll find in the In the News search result box:
Internet news searches just got a little more blue.
