Google just released a Google Play Edition Moto G for $179 (8GB) and for $199 (16GB). You can get it now on Google Play.
Not only is the new device available exclusively online in Google’s store, but it’s only selling to US customers for now. You can also only purchase it in black, but that seems like a fair trade to get stock Android and thus more frequent updates (the Moto G is already available unlocked). Still, it’s too bad all of Motorola’s devices can’t just be Google Play editions.
