Google has updated its Glass project to firmware version XE12, adding a screen lock feature, YouTube uploading, and the ability to wink to take a photo.
Early code for the MyGlass companion app hinted at the wink gesture. Google noted that it’s an “exploratory feature,” and you’ll need to have the newest version of the Glass hardware to try it out. Updates to the Hangouts and YouTube Glassware apps in XE12 now let users chat in Hangouts and share videos to YouTube with the option to post as public, private or unlisted.
The new firmware also includes the Google Play Music support that arrived earlier this month. Glass now features a Listen action menu for listening to playlists and All Access stations.
