Google Releases Docs Viewer for iPhone, Android and iPad

Google Releases Docs Viewer for iPhone, Android and iPad

Google has just announced the availability of Google Docs view on mobile browsers on Android, iPhone and iPad to allow you to view PDFs, .ppt, .doc and .docx files on Google Docs of that you’v received in Gmail.

The app lets you switch quickly between pages and pan/zoom within a page. On your iPhone and iPad, you can pinch to zoom in or out.

You can try it out by going to docs.google.com or docs.google.com/a/domainname.com (Google Apps members) on your mobile browser.

Let’s face it though, as nice as this is, it’s the ability to edit documents on the go that we’re all waiting for. In a recent meeting with the Google Docs team, I was told that it was something users should expect soon but no timeline was in place.

You can currently edit spreadsheets on the go which would logically seem the more complicated to accomplish but the Docs team informed me that is in fact not the case. Exactly why, for the life of me I can’t remember but I’ve fired the question off so expect an answer shortly.
