Add LikeAGlove to another one of the many smart clothing that are quickly entering the market. Built with sensors and conductive fibers to measure a woman’s figure, LikeAGlove leggings are designed to help ladies shop for the perfect pair of jeans anywhere on the Web.
How it works is simple: Just slip the leggings on, press a button, uh, there, and use an accompanying iOS or Android app to calculate your measurements, such as hip, waist, inseams and more.
Using a cross reference of more than 2,000 jeans in its database, the app promises to process your measurements in five seconds to give you a list of different brands of jeans that would most flatter your figure.
At the moment, the company won’t name the brand partners involved and it is unclear whether it receives commission for referring sales to certain retailers.
According to its promo video, 7 For All Mankind, Hudson and Citizen of Humanity are some of the brands likely to be included in the search results. The company is also working to make its technology available for other types of apparel, such as dresses and tops.
LikeAGlove leggings are up for pre-order today for $39.99. In a week, the price will jump to $99.99. Considering the once size fits all model, it might be the investment if you live with a lot of ladies or are constantly shopping for jeans.
It’s too bad about the giant orange button placement though. As if getting your hips measured isn’t a supremely self-conscious experience as is.
